E.M.V.Z. Girl

I am a vet and zootechnics student in Mexico. I'll be starting my 6 semester and I can't be more excited. This blog is about my experience as a student and everything that has to do with Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics...

Feel free to ask me anything.

Another story about a dog targeted as a Pit Bull for the way she looks.

These kind of people make me mad…

Necropsy on a Toucan

Necropsy on a Toucan. Nothing out of the normal, except for the larvae we found in muscle, but when checked on the microscope the teacher couldn’t find the head in any of the larvae… Does anybody know what parasites can be found in muscle? No trichinella!

If it wasn’t for tequila, I don’t know if I could have survived all this four years and a half of Vet School…

So this guy is 7 years old and his name is Pecas… The other day the owner came to me and asked me what had I done to his horse… I looked at the horse and told him that I had never touch his horse. He told me that we (my friend and I) had given Pecas medication because he was sneezing.
I caught him lying! I said to him “First, I always remember the names of the horses I give treatment to and the reason for the treatment; second, WE give IM injections in the neck, not in the top of the rump.”
Then he started laughing and told me that maybe one of his workers had done it and he didn’t know what medication the horse was given. I called our supervisor and he went four days after to drain because there was already purulence.
I’m just hoping for all the owners of these horses to open up their eyes and see that those horses are much more than money makers.

This would made a great gift for us… Vets, vet techs, future Vets and future Vet techs, who of course love horses… But who doesn’t?

Years!!!

It’s been years since the last time I posted something, well not years but a semester or something… But I promise that I’m back to stay. At school, one of the requirements so one can graduate is doing volunteer work :) and lucky me got to do it at a park full of horses… So many of the post will be of those horses… So wait for those pics :)
